REGISTRAR’S PROFILE

BARR. OBETEN O. OKOI, FCAI, FIPMD, ACHRM, CPM
Barrister Obeten O. Okoi is an accomplished administrator, legal practitioner, and academic from Ijom in Ugep, Yakurr Local Government Area of Cross River State, Nigeria.
He obtained his Bachelor of Laws (LL.B) degree in 2014 and was subsequently called to the Nigerian Bar in 2015 after earning the Barrister-at-Law (B.L.) qualification. In further pursuit of professional development, he obtained a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD) in Human Resource Management in 2024. He is an alumnus of the prestigious Faculty of Law, University of Calabar.
With over eleven years of combined experience in administration and academia, Barr. Okoi commenced his career as a Legal Officer at the then Cross River Institute of Management and Technology (CR-ITM), Ugep. Through dedication and exceptional service, he rose to the position of Assistant Registrar and Head of the Legal Unit. During his tenure, he chaired numerous committees and served as a member of several strategic committees of the institution.
Driven by a passion for teaching and scholarship, he later transitioned into the academic cadre, where he lectured courses including Nigerian Principles of Law, Company Law, Labour Law, and Business Law. His commitment to student welfare and institutional development earned him election as Dean of Student Affairs of the Cross River Institute of Management and Technology.
Barr. Okoi currently serves as the Registrar of the Federal Polytechnic, Ugep. Prior to his appointment as Registrar, he held several key administrative positions, including Head of the Legal Unit, TETFund Desk Officer, and Officer in Charge of Governing Council Matters.
He is a member of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA) and holds fellowship status in several professional bodies, including the Chartered Corporate Administrators Institute (FCAI) and

the Institute of Personnel Management and Development (FIPMD). He is also an Associate Member of the Chartered Institute of Human Resource Management (ACHRM) and a Chartered Personnel Manager (CPM), among other professional affiliations.
An erudite scholar and administrator, Barr. Okoi has attended numerous conferences, workshops, and seminars both within Nigeria and internationally. He has authored and published eight well-researched scholarly articles in reputable academic journals, contributing significantly to the fields of law, administration, and institutional management.
